Vieworks incorporates FRAMOS IP core to interface Sony sensors and Xilinx FPGAs

August 22, 2018 // By Ally Winning
Vieworks is using the newly released FRAMOS SLVS-EC RX IP Core for Xilinx FPGAs to optimise resources and accelerate the implementation of the latest Sony CMOS sensors and Xilinx FPGAs.

Vieworks is active primarily in the medical industry by producing high-quality diagnostic images for health professionals. The Vieworks R&D team designs, develops, and manufactures their latest systems with Sony’s 3rd generation CMOS sensors and the Xilinx platform, linked by the FRAMOS SLVS-EC RX IP Core for Kintex-7.

The FRAMOS FPGA module connects SONY’s sensor interfaces with up to 8 lanes at 2.3Gbps each. The module provides three to four times higher bandwidth, higher resolutions, and, a simplified system design than SubLVDS. The SLVS-EC RX IP Core is compatible with Xilinx’ Artix-7 and Kintex-7 releases.
