The program is designed to assist companies to achieve rapid time-to-production and time-to-market. The companies will take advantage of Microchip’s technical expertise for advice throughout the design process. The program is global and will invite designers to put forward projects that feature one or more components from Microchip. The program is a partnership between Microchip and Crowd Supply and it has been sponsored by Mouser. Entries will be promoted across all three channels.
Designers have around four months to enter the 2020 Get Launched program. They can enter the program by submitting project proposals through a form that can be found on the Crowd Supply website. Eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the organisers. Entrants are able to complete their 30-day Crowd Supply campaign anytime during 2020. All successful entries will receive a support package featuring cut-priced parts for the initial production run, technical and marketing review consultations, and a reduced Crowd Supply campaign fee, as well as one of several Microchip development boards, including the following:
• The Microchip Curiosity PIC32MZ EF development board was developed to evaluate the high-performance PIC32MZ EF MCU, which has 2 Mbyte flash, 512 Kbyte RAM, an integrated FPU, crypto accelerator, and full connectivity options. The 32-bit Curiosity development platform integrates a programmer/debugger, two mikroBUS click sockets, and an on-board Wi-Fi-N module, and is fully integrated with Microchip’s MPLAB X IDE.
• The Microchip AVR-IoT WA development board features a powerful ATmega4808 8-bit AVR MCU, a CryptoAuthentication secure element, and a fully certified Wi-Fi network controller to provide a quick and easy way to connect embedded applications to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud platform.
• The Microchip PIC-IoT WA development board has a PIC24FJ128GA705 16-Bit XLP MCU, Wi-Fi module, and CryptoAuthentication secure element IC. It comes preloaded with firmware that allows the quick connection to the AWS platform using the on-board temperature and light sensors.
