SafeFTL validated for Micron automotive SPI NAND flash

HCC Embedded’s failsafe flash translation layer (SafeFTL) has been verified for all of Micron Technology’s automotive-grade SPI NAND flash memory products.
HCC Embedded’s failsafe flash translation layer (SafeFTL) has been verified for all of Micron Technology’s automotive-grade SPI NAND flash memory products.

SafeFTL can now be used to ensure the reliable storage of data to Micron’s SPI NAND flash in automotive applications. HCC tested Micron’s 1Gb, 2Gb, 4Gb, and 8Gb flash devices with both 1.8V and 3.3V interfaces. The devices can operate in a temperature range from -40°C to +105°C.

RTOS-independent SafeFTL can be used in any embedded system to allow an array of NAND flash devices (or a single device) to be seen as a dependable logical array of sectors by the host application. This is typically, but not necessarily, a file system. When used in combination with HCC’s failsafe file systems, a complete and reliable storage solution can be achieved.
