Rugged universal 16-bit MCU series with integrated security
LAPIS Semiconductor, part of the ROHM Group, announces the ML62Q1300/1500/1700, a series of universal microcontrollers (MCUs) with 16-bit CPU core. The new MCUs are ideal for consumer products, household appliances, alarms, security applications and small industrial installations.

The starter kits and the reference board are compatible with the new LEXIDE-U16 development environment from LAPIS Semiconductor. (This can be downloaded from the LAPIS Semiconductor website). The new development environment works under the open source platform Eclipse. Not only does this platform offer an easy-to-use user interface and extended functionality, it also ensures high development efficiency and seamless compatibility with Eclipse environments of other companies. The MCUs, the ML62Q1000 Starter Kit Capacitive Circuit and the ML62Q1367 Reference Board will be available from online distributors in March, with additional products gradually becoming available.

For development support, LAPIS Semiconductor provides starter kits, a reference board and the LEXIDE U16 development environment. The latter is based on the open source Eclipse IDE with CDT plug-in (C/C++ Development Tooling). Compared to the existing IDEU8 from Lapis, the editor function has been extended, the functionality of the files has been improved and a tool for calculating the stack size has been added.
