Renesas and SAIC Volkswagen open joint automotive laboratory
Renesas and SAIC Volkswagen have established the “Automotive Electronic Joint Laboratory” for future automotive applications and expanded automotive electronics in China.

The SAIC-Volkswagen-Renesas Joint Laboratory is intended to accelerate research and development in emerging automotive electronics applications for the Chinese market. The project will begin with cockpit and vehicle control.

The joint laboratory is based in Anting, Shanghai, and it will combine Renesas’ advanced MCUs, SoCs and software expertise with SAIC Volkwagen’s development capabilities. Renesas will assist SAIC Volkswagen to develop next-generation automotive electronic platforms with software module development and system integration capabilities.
