Metre-level positioning system enhances GNSS performance

By eeNews Europe

The high performance UBX-M9140 GNSS chip powers the M9 technology platform. NEO-M9N is the first module based on the platform, and it can receive signals from up to four GNSS constellations (GPS, Glonass, Beidou, and Galileo) concurrently for high positional accuracy. The module provides accurate information, even in difficult conditions, such as deep urban canyons. The M9 platform also provides a position update rate of up to 25 Hz, to allow dynamic applications such as UAVs to receive low latency positional information.

u-blox M9 integrates special filtering against RF interference and jamming, spoofing detection, and advanced detection algorithms toallow it to report fraudulent attacks quickly. A SAW (surface acoustic wave) filter combined with an LNA (low noise amplifier) in the RF path is inlcuded in the NEO-M9N module, allowing normal operations even under strong RF interferences.

The u-blox M9 is supported by the Explorer Kit M9 (XPLR-M9) development board. The device is supplied with user-friendly u-start software, which includes a number of preset scenarios.

The M9 technology platform complies with the ISO/TS 16949, ISO 16750, AEC-Q100 standards.
