The new generation of EVE products offer greater resolution levels and are able to address the requirements of HMIs rendered on larger format displays.
The BT817 and BT818 devices are suitable for use with 1Mpixel displays, and provide support for resolutions such as 1920x480, 1440x540, 1280x800, 1024x600, 800x600, 800x480, 480x272. Each device has 1Mbyte embedded graphics RAM, which can be supplemented with an external NOR flash memory through the QSPI interface. EVE’s object-oriented approach means there is no need for a frame buffer to be incorporated into the HMI system. Adaptive scalable texture compression (ASTC) can lower the system’s graphics processing overhead to allow better use to be made of the available data storage capacity.
The BT818 version is for use with 4-wire resistive touchscreens, and the BT817 was designed for capacitive touchscreens (with multi-touch functionality allowing detection of up to 5 different touch points). Touch point movement is accurately tracked and 255 different touch tags can be assigned. The horizontal and vertical sync timing can be adjusted to accommodate a wider range of display units. Power mode control lowers electricity consumption. Other notable features include video playback, enhanced sketch processing and a built-in sound synthesizer.

Both the Bridgetek BT817 and BT818 come in a small 9mm x 9mm 64-pin VQFN package and feature an extended -40°C to 85°C operational temperature range.
