Since Python 2 has now been discontinued from the end of April 2020, Axivion has made the migration to Python 3 an important part of release 7.0 of its Axivion Suite. The new version now supports the use of both Python 3.7 and 3.8.

Axivion Suite is now also available for macOS. Until this release, the Axivion Suite has primarily been used on Windows and Linux operating systems. There has been a growing demand for the support of macOS from Apple users, and Axivion has made the tools in the suite available to them in the new release.

The new graphical configuration interface of will benefits users of all operating systems. Previous releases only had textual configuration for the various code and architecture analyses. Now users are able to use the new uniform configuration system and analysis framework to input settings that include for MISRA checks or individual metric checks. Threshold values can now be set from the simplified graphical metrics configuration, which also shows rule violations. Illustrations in both the modern and the classic dashboard also offer a new level of user-friendliness: In the user interface, architecture violations and cycles are displayed clearly, making them quicker to find and understand.

Release 7 of the Axivion Suite also has other new features, including support for C# 7.2 and 7.3 and for Git submodules, and compliance with MISRA-C:2012 Amendment 1 Security Rules and Amendment 2. Issue details and markers are now displayed in a single file analysis, not only in an overall analysis. Documentation is now also available in HTML, as well as PDF.
