Toshiba has added motor driver ICs that reflect the demand for compact design and quiet operation in applications such as home appliances and office automation equipment. TB67S269FTG is a bipolar stepping motor driver with a high voltage of 50V and current of 2A. It increases efficiency by increasing switching speed and adopting Toshiba’s ADMD motor driving technology. It has a low on-resistance of 0.8Ω or less and offers high-resolution motor driving technology of 1/32 steps (max) to reduce vibration and noise. It is housed in a 7 x 7 x 0.5 mm QFN48 package; safety and reliability are enhanced by the inclusion of thermal and overcurrent shutdown circuitry.

Developed for use in cooling fans within home appliances, such as refrigerators, the TB67B001FTG, TB67B008FTG and TB67B008FNG are three phase, brushless, Hall sensorless driver ICs with a 150 degree wide-angle commutation drive, contributing to lower vibration and motor noise while a rotation speed up to 30,000rpm can be achieved by means of a high speed PWM and improved cooling. All offer an operating range from 4 to 22V and a maximum output current of 3A. Package choices are: 36-pin, 5 x 5 x 0.9mm VQFN36 (TB67B001FTG), 24-pin, 4 x 4 x 0.75 mm WQFN24 (TB67B008FTG) and 24-pin, 8.3 x 7.6 x 1.6 mm SSOP24 (TB67B008FNG).
