The company has also launched the RL78/G1D BLE Module Expansion Board, which can be used with the new prototyping board to add Bluetooth Low Energy wireless communication.

The prototyping board features the RL78/G14 MCU, which offers the most complete set of functions in the low-power RL78 Family. The new board has a recommended price of only $20 and features an on-board emulator circuit with the same functionality as the E2 Emulator (E2 Lite), meaning no further debug tools are necessary. It provides access to all of the RL78/G14 signal pins and includes Arduino and Pmod interfaces for expandability. A Semtech SX1261 or SX1262 LoRa transceiver can be combined with the prototyping board for LoRa-based designs. Renesas provides circuit diagrams, parts lists, sample code, application notes and user manuals with the board.
