PC panel reduces need for complex cables

By eeNews Europe

When installing Panel PC systems, the cabling is often complex. If power and data lines are laid separately, more time must be spent on installation. The use of PoE devices can reduce the time required and consequently save on personnel costs.

For this purpose, ICP Germany offers the PoE-capable 7″ panel AFL3-W07A-AL. The built-in display offers a 16:9 picture format with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. The brightness is 500 cd/m² with a contrast ratio of 700:1. The Panel PC is equipped with a 10 point PCAP touch, which provides UV protection and an anti-glare coating. Inside, a Dual-Core Intel® Celeron® N3350 operates with a maximum turbo frequency of 2.4GHz. The main memory can be upgraded up to 8Gb DDR3L with a clock frequency of 1867 MHz. The AFL3-W07A-AL offers a M.2 2242 B+M key for solid state storage media as well as two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, two USB 3.1 with 5GB/sec and two USB 2.0. WLAN according to IEEE802.11 a/b/ag/n/ac as well as Bluetooth V4.1 are integrated for wireless communication.

In addition to the 12 VDC power connection, the Panel PC can be supplied with PoE voltage according to IEEE802.3at. ICP Germany offers suitable injectors or PoE switches for the operation of PoE devices. The AFL3-W07A-AL can be mounted on the wall, on feet or in hole cutouts. The Panel PC is designed for fanless operation in a temperature range from -20 °C to 50 °C.

On request, ICP can supply the AFL3-W07A-AL pre-installed and pre-parameterised with industrial storage media and operating system as a ready-to-use system. Alternatively, models with 10″, 12″ and 15″ displays are available.
