The kit is the first available instruction set simulator (ISS) for the Mi-V architecture. The purpose of the kit is to allow developers to access the functionality of the new soft CPU family and thereby drive adoption.

To accelerate development, the Imperas Virtual Extendable Platform Kit provides the environment to simulate the development and debugging of RISC-V soft programs in software. This software simulation environment provides increased control, visibility, automation and repeatability of development to provide higher quality code. As the first kit on the market providing an ISS for the RISC-V platform, the kit can also be used as a development platform running FreeRTOS. The Imperas Virtual Extendable Platform Kit allows a much deeper insight into the processor’s subsystems than is usually found on silicon.
