Microchip adds core-independent peripherals to AVR MCUs

Microchip Technology's latest tinyAVR MCUs (from the line acquired with Atmel) are intended to increase system throughput while lowering power consumption in embedded applications. They combine Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs) with larger 16 kB Flash memory.
