Digital Temperature Sensor for Cold Storage Applications

​ams AS6200C sensor offers designers of cold storage equipment a sensor with a simple digital output that doesn’t require calibration.

The sensor IC is designed to have an accuracy of ±0.2°C from -20°C to +10°C, which is the normal storage temperature for perishable goods. The accuracy of the sensor is guaranteed by ams over the IC’s full voltage range from 1.8V to 3.6V. By reducing the measurement error, the AS6200C will allow designers more flexibility in the choice of components for the remainder of the design.


The sensor integrates the sensor front end, a 12-bit ADC and the digital logic in a WL-CSP package. It has an I2C interface to communicate with the host controller. The internal signal processing negates the need for calibration and the output is highly linearised to ensure that there is no need for processor compensation.
